Mandrake root, also referred to as Wild mandrake, Indian apple, and mayapple, is a type of barberry plant found in the woodlands of eastern North America. Though woody and tough, it has a mild aroma. This root is intended to be made into infusions, either tinctured or decocted, for topical applications.
